On that day, Kang Mooyoung (Lee Sunbin) was kidnapped by gangsters who steal cars and target women. In fact, Kang Mooyoung, a PD of an investigative journalism program, was deliberately kidnapped for coverage. However, due to the exposure of Kang Mooyoung's aide Tak Won (Ji Seunghyun), both were at risk of being buried alive.
At that moment, Jin Kangho (Cha Taehyun) appeared and defeated the gangsters single-handedly, successfully arresting the gang leader (Kim Kwanggyu). During this, they received help from bar owner Teddy Jung (Yoon Kyungho) and the organization.
While writing the report at the police station, Jin Kangho and Kang Mooyoung constantly clashed. Kang Mooyoung said, "Thanks to me, you caught the criminal in the act," and Jin Kangho retorted, "You have a vivid imagination." Then Tak Won pointed out, "I think I saw the vehicle that side came in with in the underground parking lot when our PD Kang was kidnapped," and Jin Kangho did not deny it.
The two, who were in a tense standoff, eventually negotiated with Kang Mooyoung saying, "The police will acknowledge us, so don't leak anything to the media until we have an exclusive report." However, the police held a press conference first announcing the "arrest of the gang kidnapping women," blindsiding Kang Mooyoung.
Then the director said the investigative program would be canceled within a month. In response, Kang Mooyoung made a deal with the director that if the ratings reach 4.5% within a month, the program would not be canceled.
Kang Mooyoung sought out Tak Won and asked for help, saying, "Let's track down and catch the criminal the police couldn't." Tak Won accepted Kang Mooyoung's proposal, saying, "I profiled the criminal in this case."
Tak Won explained that the criminal has anger management issues, killed the victim by repeatedly chopping with an axe dozens of times, and left the weapon with his fingerprints at the scene. He also emphasized that the victim's severed hands found at the murder scene are the key to the case, analyzing, "They know each other but are not acquaintances."
Meanwhile, Jin Kangho, while investigating another case, identified the same person as Kang Mooyoung's suspect, Kim Minseok, raising anticipation for episode 2.
