Local media such as Express Tribune and Dawn reported that Abdul Sattar, spokesperson for Pakistan International Airlines, confirmed the crash of the airline's passenger plane on the same day.
The aircraft involved was flight PK8303, traveling from Lahore to Karachi. It was reported that a total of 107 people were on board, including 99 passengers and 8 crew members. It has been confirmed that there were no Korean passengers on board. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Pakistan confirmed through the police and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) that there were no Korean nationals on the passenger list.
The aircraft took off from Lahore in northeastern Pakistan at 1:00 PM (local time) that day and was scheduled to land at Jinnah Airport in Karachi, southern Pakistan, around 2:45 PM.
Rescue authorities dispatched personnel to the accident site to identify casualties and conduct rescue operations, while declaring a state of emergency at all hospitals near Jinnah Airport. Police and military forces were deployed to block off the area around the crash site, and helicopters were also deployed to assist in rescue efforts.
