[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] As of 6 p.m. on the 22nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the cumulative number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul increased by 2 from 8 hours earlier, reaching 761.

The two additional confirmed cases were confirmed to have had contact with a nurse at Samsung Seoul Hospital (nationwide case number 11088) who was previously diagnosed.

Both individuals are women in their mid-50s, and it was confirmed that the infection did not occur within the hospital.

One of the infected individuals resides in Seocho-gu, and the other lives in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, but was tested for COVID-19 in Seocho-gu and thus counted as a confirmed case in Seoul.

They were found to have been at the same pub in the Gangnam Station area on the 9th when patient 11088 visited pubs with acquaintances.

Among the acquaintances who socialized with patient 11088, two individuals residing in Seosan, Chungnam, and Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, who attended this gathering, have tested positive.

The city is currently investigating whether there are more confirmed cases related to the pub where multiple infections occurred.

The number of confirmed cases in Seoul related to the Itaewon club cluster infection has not increased, remaining at a total of 102.
