[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] A man in his 60s who was scheduled to work as a caregiver at a nursing hospital in the Gyeongnam region tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the 22nd, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that a man identified as Mr. A (60), living in Jinju, tested positive for COVID-19.
The man tested positive during a comprehensive screening conducted for prospective caregivers at nursing hospitals. Gyeongnam Province stated that he has no underlying health conditions and shows no symptoms of COVID-19.
Health authorities transferred him to Jinju Gyeongsang National University Hospital and plan to investigate the specific infection route and identify contacts.
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has risen to 119. Among them, 113 have fully recovered and been discharged, and including the newly confirmed cases, six patients remain hospitalized.
