'Quantum Security 5G Phone' Galaxy A Quantum Released... Maximum Official Subsidy 236,000 KRW

'Quantum Security 5G Phone' Galaxy A Quantum Released... Maximum Official Subsidy 236,000 KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgi Na Cho] The world's first quantum-secure 5G smartphone, the 'Galaxy A Quantum,' has been set with a maximum official subsidy of 236,000 KRW.

Officially released on the 22nd, the Galaxy A Quantum is a new 5G smartphone jointly developed by SK Telecom and Samsung Electronics, featuring the world's first quantum random number generator chipset. The colors available are Black, Silver, and Blue. It boasts premium specifications including ▲6.7-inch large Infinity-O display ▲8GB RAM ▲4500mAh high-capacity battery. The retail price is 649,000 KRW.

SK Telecom's official subsidies by plan are set as follows: ▲0Teen 5G 128,000 KRW ▲Slim 142,000 KRW ▲Standard 170,000 KRW ▲Prime 200,000 KRW ▲Platinum 236,000 KRW.

Since the official subsidies are set lower than in previous years, consumers are advised to choose the 25% rate discount option. Assuming the use of SK Telecom's plan priced around 75,000 KRW, the purchase price can be reduced to 453,500 KRW by combining the official subsidy (170,000 KRW) and additional subsidy (25,500 KRW when purchased via T Direct Shop). However, if the same plan is chosen with a 25% contract discount (based on 24 months), an additional saving of 254,620 KRW can be achieved.

During the pre-order sales starting from the 14th, the Galaxy A Quantum showed promising signs of success by recording three times the pre-order volume compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A80. The Galaxy A Quantum, leveraging quantum security technology, has been particularly popular among men in their 30s and 40s. According to analysis by T Direct Shop, about 30% of Galaxy A Quantum pre-order customers are men aged 30 to 40.

Meanwhile, SK Telecom will hold the 'Robokeeper' event from the 29th to the 31st at the 5GX Boost Park in Jamsil Lotte World Tower Arena Plaza to promote quantum security technology in an easy and fun way. The 'Robokeeper' event is a globally popular event featuring penalty shootout matches between a robot goalkeeper and famous soccer players Messi and Neymar.

Former national soccer team player Lee Young-pyo's experience with 'Robokeeper' will be broadcast on the YouTube channel Shoot for Love, which has about 1.2 million subscribers. SK Knights coach Moon Kyung-eun and players will also attend the event.
