[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Wando Office of Education announced on the 21st that it operated the ‘Self-Directed Learning Specialist Certification Class for Parents’ education for 18 parents in the Wando Nohwa and Bogil areas over five sessions from the 11th to the 18th.

This parent education is a learning facilitator role training that helps parents, as learning planners, to motivate their children’s learning and support them through active parental role training so that children can develop a self-directed learning mindset.

Fourteen parents from the Nohwa and Bogil areas obtained the Level 2 Self-Directed Learning Specialist certification through this parent education.

Wando Office of Education plans to conduct the same course for parents in Wando-eup next month.

Parent Park Sun-young, who participated in the training, said, “Through this education, I gained confidence to support my child’s learning, and I want to help not only my child but also the children in the village.”

Superintendent Kim Myung-sik said, “I hope this self-directed learning specialist parent education will serve as a stepping stone for parents’ educational volunteering, and we will continue to support parent education so that parents can contribute to schools as members of the school community.”
