[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Global outdoor brand Black Yak (Chairman Kang Tae-sun) announced on the 21st that it will launch ‘BY LIVE’ on the official Black Yak YouTube channel to celebrate surpassing 150,000 members in the app-based hiking community platform Black Yak Alpine Club (BAC) Challenge Team.
Through BY LIVE, Black Yak plans to present high-quality subscription content covering various topics related to the outdoor lifestyle and expand it into a content platform that designs outdoor experiences.
They will communicate based on diverse content such as ‘Beginner Hiker A to Z,’ which includes hiking tips and essential knowledge, ‘MD’S Pick,’ where product planners and designers explain and recommend products directly, and ‘Famous Mountain 100’ course information explored together with local store owners.
As the first content for the launch, they will release the behind-the-scenes video of the BAC campaign filmed on Geumodo Island in Yeosu with actor Kang Ha-neul, titled ‘Sky, Wind, Island, and Mountain.’ This video, produced based on Kang Ha-neul’s interview, conveys the vivid atmosphere of the filming site in a documentary format.
A Black Yak representative said, “We will become a content platform that showcases Black Yak’s unique hiking lifestyle, from objective information to interesting stories,” adding, “We plan to gradually expand into various outdoor areas such as camping and climbing, and engage in sincere communication with customers as if climbing a mountain together.”
