Musical 'Opera-ui Yujeong' Seoul Performance Extended... Until August 8

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The world tour of the musical 'The Phantom of the Opera' in Seoul has been extended until August 8.

'The Phantom of the Opera' opened on March 14 at Blue Square Interpark Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and was originally scheduled to run until June 27. However, the schedule was disrupted when an ensemble cast member contracted COVID-19, and after taking quarantine measures, performances resumed on the 23rd of last month.

'The Phantom of the Opera' is a representative work by legendary musical composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. It is the only production to have run continuously for over 30 years on both Broadway in the United States and the West End in the United Kingdom, winning more than 70 awards including the Tony Awards and Olivier Awards. Approximately 140 million people worldwide have watched it, and in Korea, since its premiere in 2001, it has been performed four times with a cumulative audience exceeding one million.

The two-week performances from June 20 to July 3, including the added shows, will open for booking at 2 p.m. on the 26th. Tickets can be purchased through Paybook, Wemakeprice, Interpark, Yes24, Hana Ticket, Auction, Ticket 11st, and Melon Ticket. BC Card Paybook members can participate in pre-sale from 2 p.m. on the 21st to 10 a.m. on the 25th, and 'The Phantom of the Opera' newsletter subscribers and Fanpill members can join the pre-sale from 2 p.m. on the 25th to 9 a.m. on the 26th. Detailed information can be found on the official social media channels of 'The Phantom of the Opera' world tour Korea performance and each ticketing site.

The schedule for the Daegu performance following the Seoul show of 'The Phantom of the Opera' world tour will be announced later.
