Ji Sunwoo accidentally meets Chairman Choi's wife (Seo Yi-sook) and greets her. Chairman Choi's wife offers an ambiguous greeting, saying, "Should I say congratulations? Or should I say it's amazing?" Go Yerim (Park Sun-young) visits Son Jehyeok (Kim Young-min) and complains, not quite a complaint, asking how long they plan to continue like this. When Son Jehyeok asks, "Did you come to nag me at this hour?" Go Yerim quietly replies, "I missed you a little." Son Jehyeok responds, "I missed you too," and embraces her.
Ji Sunwoo, Seolmyeongsuk (Chae Guk-hee), Kim Yoon-gi (Lee Moo-saeng), and Junyoung gather to celebrate Go Yerim and Son Jehyeok's reconciliation. Seolmyeongsuk also congratulates Junyoung and Ji Sunwoo, saying, "Now only peaceful days remain." However, amidst this, Ji Sunwoo becomes uneasy, thinking she might have caught a glimpse of Lee Taeoh at a restaurant.
One night, after reconciling with Son Jehyeok, Go Yerim tearfully confesses to him, "I thought I would be okay, but I'm not. I wish I hated you instead. My heart is a living hell."
Feeling uneasy as if Lee Taeoh is lingering nearby, Seolmyeongsuk tells Ji Sunwoo that someone she knows has seen Lee Taeoh. Ji Sunwoo checks if Junyoung is at home just in case. But when Ji Sunwoo arrives home, she only finds a note from Lee Taeoh saying, "I'll take Junyoung."
Ji Sunwoo calls Lee Taeoh and asks if he took Junyoung. Lee Taeoh answers, "Junyoung wanted to see me and be with me." Ji Sunwoo persuades Lee Taeoh, and eventually, the three have a meal together.
At the restaurant, Lee Taeoh says, "Let's start anew. I'll forgive you, so please forgive me too." He then makes excuses for Junyoung and emphasizes becoming a family of three again. Junyoung is stunned by this, and Ji Sunwoo firmly replies, "You know it's impossible. We're finished."
However, Lee Taeoh continues, "I have nothing. I've lost everything. Please give me one chance. Isn't that what family is about?" showing his lowest point. Unable to bear Lee Taeoh's humiliating behavior, Junyoung gets up and leaves.
After leaving the restaurant, Lee Taeoh tells Junyoung, "Don't live like your father. Forget your father and live. I won't show up again," and walks onto the road. It appears that Lee Taeoh is hit by a truck, but he is unharmed. When Ji Sunwoo confirms that Lee Taeoh is alive and embraces him, Junyoung feels disgusted by the sight of the two and runs away.
One year later, Junyoung, who had run away, still has not returned home, and Go Yerim has ultimately parted ways with Son Jehyeok. Ji Sunwoo writes in her diary, "In marital matters, perhaps there can be neither a one-sided perpetrator nor a perfectly innocent victim. If we endure each day painfully reflecting on the mistakes we made, yet without being trapped by that pain, maybe salvation will come. The moment I can forgive myself."
Meanwhile, the sound of the front door opening is heard, leaving a lingering hint that Junyoung has returned from running away, and the drama concludes.
