Establishing Vision and Setting Mission Through Regular Meeting on the 12th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seongsu Park) is launching an initiative to establish a ‘foundation for collaborative governance.’
On the 12th, Songpa-gu announced that it held the 2nd regular meeting (workshop) of the Songpa-gu Collaborative Governance Committee and the final report session of the research project, through which it established the Songpa Collaborative Governance Vision.
The Songpa-gu Collaborative Governance Committee is an organization that establishes a public-private collaborative governance system and deliberates and coordinates matters related to the activation of collaborative governance. The committee was launched after forming a group of 40 members, including 30 private members selected through an open recruitment in January this year, 8 Songpa-gu public officials, and 2 district council members.
The committee identifies agendas for regional development and discusses specific project plans through regular meetings.
At the meeting, ‘Improving quality of life through citizen participation’ was set as the mission of Songpa Collaborative Governance.
During the meeting, Songpa-gu also formed four subcommittees by function: collaborative governance system, collaborative governance education, collaborative governance agendas, and activation of civil society. Additionally, an agenda working group was established within the collaborative governance agenda subcommittee.
Songpa-gu explained that the workshop format fostered creative ideas and a free meeting atmosphere, creating a space for communication and harmony.
Songpa-gu emphasized that it will continue to accelerate the establishment of a community innovation plan.
Seongsu Park, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “Through public-private collaborative governance, various stakeholders will communicate and cooperate,” adding, “We will spare no effort to provide the best support to solve community issues.”
