On the 13th, Chosun University announced that it signed an MOU with Haemil School to build a cooperative relationship for supporting education and educational equipment for students from multicultural families, as well as personnel exchanges.
Attending the signing ceremony were Chairperson Kim Insoon, Secretary-General Lee Kyungjin, Chosun University President Min Youngdon, Dean of the College of Future Society Convergence Kim Jongkyung, Director of General Affairs Park Sangsoon, Director of Planning and Coordination Byun Jaeyoung, Director of the SW-Centered University Project Team Jeong Ilyong, and Deputy Director of the SW-Centered University Project Department Kwak Geunchang.
Through the agreement, both parties agreed to mutually cooperate on ▲ establishing a collaborative system for smooth educational linkage for youth from multicultural families ▲ supporting educational equipment for youth from multicultural families ▲ providing educational programs to enhance SW thinking for youth from multicultural families ▲ and carrying out other necessary projects for the development of both institutions.
After the signing ceremony, President Min and Chairperson Kim toured the Chosun University History Hall and the Rose Garden together.
Chairperson Kim said, “The history of Chosun University, the nation’s first privately established university, is fascinating,” and added, “Haemil School will continue to grow as a school that nurtures talents with individuality and freedom, just like the founding spirit of Chosun University.”
President Min said, “I am pleased to meet Chairperson Kim, who conveys love and happiness to the public through her songs, and I respect her dedication to supporting youth from multicultural families in this meaningful work,” and added, “Chosun University will strengthen its cooperative relationship with Haemil School and spare no effort in providing multifaceted support.”
Meanwhile, Chairperson Kim Insoon established the nonprofit organization ‘Insooni and Good People’ in October 2012, and Haemil School for the education of youth from multicultural families opened in April 2013. In March 2016, Haemil School transitioned to a tuition-free educational model and has been striving to help youth from multicultural families grow into key talents in our society.
