Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station Launches Mudeungsan Mountain Fire Prevention Campaign

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station (Chief Yang Younggyu) announced on the 13th that it conducted a ‘Forest Fire and Mountain Accident Prevention Campaign’ together with the Mudeungsan 119 Citizen Mountain Volunteer Corps around Mudeungsan.

The campaign involved more than 20 fire officials and members of the Mudeungsan 119 Citizen Mountain Volunteer Corps, promoting spring forest fire prevention, guiding safe hiking for climbers, providing instructions on how to report emergencies during hiking, and distributing promotional materials related to forest fire prevention.

In addition, to ensure a safe and enjoyable hike for climbers, safety facilities and signboards on the hiking trails were maintained, and forest cleanup activities were carried out.

Chief Yang Younggyu said, “With the increase in hikers during spring, the risk of forest fires and mountain safety accidents is rising,” adding, “We will strive to promote safety measures such as campaigns to ensure citizens have a comfortable and safe hiking experience.”
