[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Eight new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Incheon. All of them are contacts of a private academy instructor who visited Itaewon clubs.
On the 13th, Incheon City announced that eight additional confirmed cases related to private academy instructor A, who visited Itaewon clubs, have been identified. A initially claimed to be unemployed but was later confirmed to be an academy instructor during the epidemiological investigation.
The new confirmed cases include three each from Michuhol-gu and Jung-gu, and two from Yeonsu-gu. In Michuhol-gu, one colleague instructor of A and two high school students attending the academy tested positive.
In Yeonsu-gu, one middle school student receiving private tutoring from A and two others, including the student's parent, tested positive. In Jung-gu, three high school students attending the academy where A works were confirmed positive.
Incheon City has requested private academies in Incheon to refrain from operating for one week. Additionally, people who visited Onsalang Presbyterian Church in Dong-gu and Palbok Church in Michuhol-gu, where infected individuals had been, are advised to avoid going out and to get tested.
