TOMS, Global Donation Campaign to Overcome COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Lifestyle culture company LF (CEO Oh Gyusik) announced on the 13th that TOMS, a US total shoe brand operated domestically, is launching a global donation campaign to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The global headquarters of TOMS has created a COVID-19 global donation fund in response to the worldwide spread of COVID-19 and has been donating one-third of its net profits since the 1st of last month. As part of efforts to deliver a message of hope to the international community and practice social values, it has started social contribution activities for citizens struggling to overcome COVID-19.

Through the COVID-19 global donation fund, TOMS directly provides epidemic prevention supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers to citizens in countries where it is difficult to secure hygiene products.

Additionally, in collaboration with WaterAid, an international non-profit organization that provides clean water and hygienic toilets in more than 30 countries, TOMS is spreading educational messages about handwashing and installing water stations in areas with high foot traffic.

Furthermore, TOMS is actively working to overcome the crisis by providing hand soap, sanitizers, masks, and PPE (personal protective equipment) for medical staff on the front lines of the virus.

Amy Smith, TOMS' Chief Executive Officer, said, “TOMS has been committed to projects aimed at improving the lives of local community citizens,” adding, “We will continue to support the efforts of people worldwide to win the fight against COVID-19 together with our customers.”
