[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Singer Baek Yerin (23) warned people who engage in 'peulmi' transactions to "neither buy nor sell." 'Peulmi' is an abbreviation of 'premium' and refers to reselling items such as tickets and albums purchased at the regular price for a higher amount.
On the 11th, Baek Yerin wrote on her social network service (SNS), "I hope the peulmi culture, which harms artists for personal gain, will soon be met with strong penalties," expressing her stance.
On the same day, Baek Yerin, who sold the limited edition LP of her first full-length album, said, "Thank you so much for loving it even more than we expected," and explained, "The album was originally released in December last year, and we wanted to gift it to fans like an ongoing event, so we produced it with good quality."
She then expressed anger, saying, "The Blue Vinyl (agency) and the Majang team worked so hard for months, but selling a 50,000 won LP at five times the price with a premium attached is outrageous."
She added, "Just because everyone else does it does not justify your illegal actions," advising her fans.
Baek Yerin's limited edition LP of her first full-length album 'Every letter I sent you' sold out immediately at various retailers upon release. The sold-out limited edition LP consists of two LPs containing all the tracks from last year's full-length album and was produced in a limited quantity of 2,000 copies.
