[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Brooks Running, the running brand under Samsung C&T Fashion Division, announced on the 11th the launch of the racing shoe 'Hyperion Elite' for runners aiming to improve their marathon records.
To create the best racing shoe, Brooks Running conducted research and development together with professional runners, including Desiree Linden, the female champion of the 2018 Boston Marathon.
The newly developed DNA Zero midsole is an ultra-lightweight 196g, reducing weight by about 45% compared to existing cushioning. The wide-shaped midsole stabilizes the foot securely without shaking for long periods, preventing injuries and minimizing energy consumption.
Additionally, Brooks Running inserted a specially made carbon plate into the midsole to provide strong propulsion during takeoff along with a fast foot roll. The Hyperion Elite's stretch upper is made of highly elastic nylon yarn, perfectly wrapping the foot.
This new product is available for pre-order until the 17th on SSF Shop, the integrated online mall of Samsung C&T Fashion Division, and will be shipped collectively from the 18th. The price is 289,000 KRW.
Meanwhile, to celebrate Family Month, Brooks Running has prepared a customer participation donation event called ‘I’ll Give Dedication, Brooks Dao.’ Until the 31st, customers who bring used running shoes to Brooks Running stores, regardless of brand, will receive a 10,000 KRW shoe voucher.
The voucher can be used at Brooks Running stores nationwide. The used running shoes will be donated to the ‘World Education and Culture Foundation,’ a support organization that provides educational opportunities to underprivileged groups in Korea and children in impoverished countries worldwide.
Song Jubaek, Brooks Team Leader, said, “With the launch of racing shoes for marathon elites, we have completed a diverse product lineup for customers who enjoy running as well as those who wish to improve their records. We have prepared a donation event that customers can participate in directly to strengthen sustainable brand value.”
