[Asia Economy, Reporter Heo Midam] Comedian Lee Yongsik has expressed his regret regarding the rumors of the cancellation of KBS2's "Gag Concert."

On May 7, Lee Yongsik wrote on his Facebook, "It's been a really long time since I've posted anything," adding, "Cancellation of 'Gag Concert'? Our comedian juniors have endured extremely difficult days just like everyone else due to COVID-19 and have made it this far."

He continued, "Now, I believe it is time to give strength and comfort to our people, who have gone through so much, by making them laugh. But cancellation? Should I pick up a protest sign again like I did during the 'Utchatsa' days? No. Absolutely not. I sincerely hope this is fake news," he said.

Along with his post, Lee Yongsik shared a photo of himself staging a one-man protest with a placard during the cancellation of SBS's "Utchatsa" in 2017.

Earlier that morning, a media outlet reported that "Gag Concert" would end after its final recording at the end of this month. In response, KBS stated to multiple media outlets that "no decision has been made regarding the cancellation of 'Gag Concert.'"

Hello, this is Lee Yongsik.

It's been a really long time since I've posted anything.

Cancellation of Gag Concert? Our comedian juniors have endured extremely difficult days just like everyone else due to COVID-19 and have made it this far.
