[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] KT will conduct pre-orders for LG Electronics' new smartphone model 'LG Velvet (LG VELVET)' from the 8th to the 14th at all KT stores nationwide and the official online mall KT Shop.
The LG Velvet features a 6.8-inch display and has a storage capacity of 128GB. The colors available are ▲Aurora White ▲Aurora Gray ▲Aurora Green ▲Illusion Sunset, totaling four options. The price is 899,800 KRW (including VAT).
KT is introducing a program to reduce the burden of purchasing a smartphone. ‘Super Change’ is a program where customers who use the LG Velvet for 24 months and then exchange it for a new LG smartphone of the same class can return the used LG Velvet and receive compensation of up to 50% of the original price. Super Change can be subscribed to from the 15th, when the LG Velvet is released, until June 30, and users can get discounts on the usage fee by using KT membership points.
KT also supports discount benefits with affiliated cards. By using the ‘KT Super Installment 2 Shinhan Card,’ customers can receive a 360,000 KRW discount on communication fees over 24 months (conditioned on spending over 300,000 KRW the previous month). If customers use the affiliated card for over 300,000 KRW via LG Pay by the end of June, they can save up to 470,000 KRW. By combining Super Change and affiliated card benefits, customers can receive discounts of up to 910,000 KRW.
Subscribing to KT’s Super Plan Plus tariff allows unlimited use of 5G data and provides the additional service ‘Season Choice,’ which offers music, movies, and dramas for free. The Super Plan Plus includes three types: ▲Basic Plus (90,000 KRW/month, VAT included) ▲Special Plus (110,000 KRW/month) ▲Premium Plus (130,000 KRW/month), and subscriptions are available only until the 31st. By applying a 25% discount for contract selection and a 25% premium family combination discount together, customers can use the three Super Plan Plus tariffs at up to 50% off.
When purchasing the LG Velvet from the official online mall KT Shop, customers can choose one of the following gifts: ▲Belkin Wireless Charging Stand ▲Kakao AI Speaker ▲Actimon 20,000mAh Portable Battery ▲Pantone Power Bank Bluetooth Earphones ▲Liquem Vehicle Ultra-Fast Wireless Charger. If activated by the 21st, customers can select one of the gifts provided by LG Electronics: ▲PuriCare Mini ▲Character Accessory Pack ▲Smartphone Gimbal. Applications can be made via the LG SmartWorld app until June 30.
KT Shop offers the ‘Yeogioji’ service, where KT consultants visit the customer's desired location. After purchasing the LG Velvet from KT Shop and selecting Yeogioji as the delivery method, customers can experience services such as used phone compensation, data backup, film attachment, and IT device trials.
To commemorate the launch of the LG Velvet, KT Shop is also holding a ‘5 PM Hot Deal’ event. It will be held for two hours from 5 PM to 7 PM on the 12th, offering a chance for 10 people to purchase the LG Velvet for 10,000 KRW through a lottery. The first 200 customers will receive a Baskin-Robbins ice cream gift certificate. Anyone with a KT.com ID can enter.
