[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) will operate 'Dongne Baeumteo,' a neighborhood-level lifelong learning center, from June to November to support diverse and extensive lifelong learning for residents.
The district has been operating Dongne Baeumteo since 2016 by utilizing idle spaces in the area to strengthen the lifelong learning foundation reflecting the characteristics of the local living area, guarantee residents' nearby learning rights, and expand the base of lifelong learning through resident-centered customized programs.
This year, seven Dongne Baeumteo locations have been designated: the National Folk Museum (Samcheong-ro 37), Hwajeong Museum (Pyeongchang 8-gil 3), Jongno-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center (Yulgok-ro 23-gil 12), Sangmyung University Art & Design Center (Dongsung-gil 133), Children and Youth National Studies Library (Myeongnyun-gil 26), Changsin Communication Workshop (Changsin 6-ga-gil 47), and Sunginmaru Small Library (Jibong-ro 86), offering a total of 38 programs.
At the National Folk Museum located in Samcheong-dong, six programs will be conducted, including stories of Joseon Dynasty palaces, museum tours and traditional hanok photography, hidden neighborhood waterways stories, and stories of our neighborhood's cultural heritage.

The Jongno 5·6-ga-dong Jongno-gu Social Economy Integrated Support Center will conduct five programs including lifelong active second careers, happy emotion management, and youth social economy workshops.
Additionally, Sangmyung University Art & Design Center in Ihwa-dong will offer five programs including landscape sketching, figure croquis through video, and slow and deep writing. The Children and Youth National Studies Library in Hyehwa-dong will conduct five programs such as stories of our heroes in history, fun thematic Chinese character classes, and children and youth Mencius classes.
