Public Home Shopping Online Mall Hosts 'Gyeongbuk Sale Festa·Seafood Expo'

Focused Sales of Gyeongbuk Small and Medium Enterprise Products and Domestic Excellent Seafood in May

Public Home Shopping Online Mall Hosts 'Gyeongbuk Sale Festa·Seafood Expo'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Public Home Shopping announced on the 4th that it will promote a large-scale special sales event on its online mall and mobile app throughout May for products from the Gyeongbuk region and seafood products that are struggling due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

During the 'Gyeongbuk Sale Festa' held throughout May, products from small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners in the Gyeongbuk region, which has been most severely affected by COVID-19, will be sold. Customers can find excellent products from about 100 companies across various fields such as food and daily necessities at discounted prices.

Also, from the 4th until the end of this month, the 'Korea Seafood Grand Sale' will offer about 200 domestic high-quality seafood items such as mackerel, abalone, sea squirts, and hairtail at up to 10% discounted prices. This is to support the sales channels of domestic seafood, whose consumption has been depressed due to COVID-19.

Public Home Shopping is carrying out various activities to help small and medium-sized enterprises and farmers and fishermen who are struggling due to COVID-19. Notably, until the 5th, it is conducting the '7 Days of Value Buying' campaign to promote consumption together with three government ministries: the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. It is also running the 'Sudden Chance' program, which directly purchases products such as agricultural products and flowers that have been hit hard by COVID-19 and sells them charging only the delivery fee.

A Public Home Shopping official said, "TV sales broadcasts have limited time, but Public Shopping's online mall and mobile app can introduce and sell many products without time restrictions." He added, "As a public institution, Public Home Shopping will continue to carry out various consumption promotion activities to overcome COVID-19."
