Following 'Mupung Cube Petcare', 'Blue Sky' Lineup Expansion Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 4th that it has launched the 'Wind-Free Cube Pet Care,' an air purifier dedicated to pet care optimized for households with pets.
The pet care air purifier thoroughly removes pet hair and odors through proprietary specialized filter technology. It is especially characterized by the inclusion of a 'deodorizing specialized filter' that eliminates more than 99% of pet odors.
Samsung Electronics conducted a detailed analysis of odor components generated when living with pets and found that methyl mercaptan, isovaleraldehyde, and nonanal were representative components that cause discomfort to humans. These three components were related to pet body odor, feces, and food smells.
The deodorizing specialized filter installed in the pet care air purifier applies patented activated carbon catalyst technology to achieve 99% deodorization efficiency against gases of the three components generated by pets. The deodorization efficiency for these three gases was uniquely certified by Intertek, a global product testing and certification organization, in Korea. It also fundamentally removes harmful household gases such as ammonia, acetic acid, acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, and toluene. Additionally, the activated carbon's contact area with gases was increased more than threefold compared to previous models, tripling the cumulative purification capacity.
The pet care air purifier is also equipped with a 'dual pet micro filter' that effectively removes pet hair and fine dust. The pet micro filter filters twice, allowing safe use even during heavy shedding periods, and it is washable for hygiene and easy replacement. Using the 'pet-only mode' increases airflow to help effectively collect airborne pet hair.
Furthermore, it retains Samsung air purifiers' differentiated technologies such as ▲a fine dust collection filter that removes 99.9% of dust particles as small as 0.3 ㎛ ▲a laser PM 1.0 sensor that detects fine particles as small as 0.3 ㎛ in real time using a laser light source ▲Wind-Free purification that eliminates direct airflow and noise concerns.
The Wind-Free Cube Pet Care was released in two models (cleaning area 90㎡ and 94㎡) with prices of 1.1 million KRW and 1.3 million KRW, respectively. Samsung Electronics plans to introduce the 'Blue Sky Pet Care' (cleaning area 57㎡) in June.

We will continue research related to pets as well as various consumer lifestyles to contribute to creating a comfortable indoor environment."
