[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] North Korea released footage of Chairman Kim Jong-un appearing officially for the first time in 20 days. This is interpreted as an intention to firmly dispel various 'speculations' and 'fake news' about Chairman Kim's health, amid rumors of his death.

On the 2nd, Korean Central TV aired news about the completion ceremony of the Suncheon Fertilizer Factory, which Chairman Kim attended the previous day, as the first segment of the regular broadcast starting around 3 p.m., accompanied by about 15 minutes of edited footage. This followed the release of photos through print media, now supplemented with video footage.

The video showed multiple scenes of Chairman Kim walking and standing while conversing. Entering the outdoor completion ceremony venue escorted by mask-wearing security guards, he responded to the cheers of a large crowd by waving his hand as he walked in. After sitting on the presidium, he maintained a bright expression while conversing with officials including Premier Kim Jae-ryong, and after cutting the completion tape, he stood and applauded.

After the completion ceremony, while touring the factory, Chairman Kim rode an electric cart with other officials between the large factory facilities, but inside the facilities and while descending stairs, he consistently appeared in normal condition.
