"Golden Holiday to Incheon Islands~"…Drive Trip While Maintaining Social Distance Incheon Island Drive Travel Destinations [Provided by Incheon Tourism Organization]

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Tourism Organization has selected five 'Incheon Island Drive Travel Destinations' that can be enjoyed while adhering to social distancing during the COVID-19 situation, in celebration of the golden holiday in May.

Among the 168 clean and diverse Incheon islands, this introduces travel destinations that can be easily reached within an hour by car from the metropolitan area via bridges connecting the islands, such as land bridges.

▶ 'Healing Travel' Ganghwa-do, Seokmodo, Gyodong-do = Popular among millennials and family travelers for historical and cultural sites from the Goryeo and Joseon periods, vintage cafes like Joyang Textile, as well as thrilling activities such as Ganghwa luge and zipline.

Visitors can also fully enjoy Ganghwa specialties such as Ganghwa ginseng, Sajabal mugwort, mudflat eel, and salted crab ribs.

Seokmodo can be reached directly by car to Bomunsa Temple via Seokmo Bridge, opened in 2017, and by crossing Gyodong Bridge, you can drive to Gyodong-do, where you can enjoy a nostalgic trip with analog vibes.

▶ 'Sunset Travel' Yeongjong-do = Yeongjong-do is a representative island in Korea ideal for driving trips, with Yeongjong Bridge and Incheon Bridge, the longest bridge in Korea.

Yeongjong-do is famous for its beautiful sunsets from any location. Especially, Eulwangri Beach, designated as a national tourist spot in 1986 and known as a top sunset destination in Korea, is also famous for its food such as grilled clams and seafood kalguksu (noodle soup).

Near Masian Beach, you can enjoy various desserts and bakery items at places like Masirang Bakery and cafes. There are also various activities available, including the BMW Driving Center and Yeongjong Seaside Rail Bike.

▶ 'Trekking Travel' Muui-do and Somuui-do = Known for fantastic trekking courses along the beach, you can enjoy trekking on the Ho Ryonggok Mountain and the sea-walking exploration trail on Muui-do by crossing the Muui Bridge, opened last year.

You can also cross to Somuui-do via the pedestrian bridge and enjoy an amazing island trekking experience along the Muui Badanuri Trail.

▶ 'Bicycle Travel' Sindo, Sido, Modo = These islands can be reached by car ferry from Sammok Ferry Terminal on Yeongjong-do, carrying cars and bicycles on board.

The three islands of Sindo, Sido, and Modo are connected by bridges and known as the "Three Brothers Islands." The gentle slopes make it enjoyable for bicycle clubs and anyone to ride while appreciating spring flowers.

Especially on Modo, there is the Baemikkumi Sculpture Park decorated with works by surrealist artist Lee Ilho, making it a great place to take a break.

▶ 'Camping Travel' Yeongheung-do and Seonjae-do = These two islands are perfect for a drive along Yeongheung Bridge and Seonjae Bridge.

Yeongheung-do’s Simripo Beach is the largest cluster of Korean white birch trees, ideal for forest bathing. Seonjae-do, introduced by CNN as one of Korea’s beautiful islands, offers diverse attractions with its tidal mudflat path connecting to Moksom Island during low tide and exotic cafes.

Surrounded by vast mudflats, beaches, and forests, both islands have stylish campgrounds scattered throughout, making them perfect for healing in nature.

Detailed information about the recommended travel destinations can be found on the Incheon Tourism Organization website (www.travelicn.or.kr) and Incheon Tourism SNS channels.

An official from Incheon Tourism Organization stated, "Although the COVID-19 situation continues, we plan to keep discovering and promoting tourist spots where people can enjoy social distancing outdoors, away from crowded urban areas and indoor spaces, to feel the fresh spring atmosphere."
