[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The "Regional Safety Culture and Win-Win Cooperation Network," consisting of six organizations including the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), donated 4 million won to Gangnam Dreamville, a child welfare facility, on the 28th.
The donated funds will be used to purchase various items such as masks, diapers, baby formula, and wet wipes for underprivileged children in the region who are struggling due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The Regional Safety Culture and Win-Win Cooperation Network is a public institution council that includes KIAT, the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation Institute, the Gangnam-gu Volunteer Center, and the Nonhyeon Senior Welfare Center. They carry out various campaigns and social contribution activities to spread a culture of safety and environmental protection practices in local communities.
The heads of the six organizations jointly conducted a campaign to post a public support message online, wishing for the overcoming of COVID-19, along with the fund donation.
They stated, "Due to COVID-19, local communities, especially marginalized groups, are facing many difficulties," and added, "We will strengthen cooperation among institutions to take the lead in overcoming crises within local communities and realizing social values."
