[Kim Maengnyoung's Golf English Conversation] "This Is How to Play Business Golf"

[Kim Maengnyoung's Golf English Conversation] "This Is How to Play Business Golf" Golf is the best sport for business marketing.

May is just around the corner.

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) gradually subsides, outdoor activities are slowly increasing. Golf, in particular, is the best way to build rapport. Golf will always be the ultimate business tool. There is no sport like golf when it comes to building business marketing and information networks. You can spend over five hours in nature with your valuable customers, breathing in fresh air and listening to the sounds of birds.

A round of golf plays a significant role in business and can provide great benefits. Golf can open the lines of communication and lead to potential clients or business partnerships. Honesty is fundamental. You must always observe proper manners and etiquette. Be strict with yourself and generous with others. Be considerate of your partners-do not interfere too much or apply the rules of golf excessively. Remember that excessive flattery can be uncomfortable.

Only offer lessons if your business partner asks for them. Don't offer lessons to business associates, but if one asks for help, go ahead. If your partner loses a ball, help them find it, and stay on the green until everyone has holed out. Give plenty of compliments such as "good shot," "nice putting," or "good out from the bunker." Avoid conversations about religion or politics. Keep the topic on golf, and add some light humor. Postpone business-related discussions until the next day.

Improving the lie of the ball, slow play, cheating on your score, blaming mistakes on the caddie, losing your temper, or throwing clubs-these behaviors can ruin business golf. If someone cheats at golf, they just think cheat in business. It is best to be considerate from start to finish so your partners can enjoy the round. The main objective of a golf play with business associates is to have fun.

Golfer A: Hi! I'm Michael. I'd like to introduce all the golfers who will be playing today.

Golfers B, C, D: Okay, fine.

Golfer A: To the left is Mr. Kim from Korean Air. He is in charge of customer service, and he's also a scratch golfer.

Golfer A: Okay, now that we all know each other, let's enjoy a good game of golf and hope the nice weather holds up.
