[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Broadcaster Seo Yu-ri expressed her anxiety about married life to an expert.
On the 25th, JTBC's 'The Most Ordinary Family' featured broadcaster Seo Yu-ri appearing together with her husband, PD Choi Byung-gil.
In the broadcast, Seo Yu-ri showed symptoms of extreme anxiety when separated from her husband.
She confessed, "I was always anxious," adding, "Since I was young, I had no stability. My parents were busy when I was little, and I was alone at home. After living an unstable life, I found stability through marriage."
She continued, "I had been anxious for over 30 years, so I thought, 'I'm supposed to be anxious all the time, so why am I feeling stable?'"
Seo Yu-ri then said, "Even in stable situations, I sought instability," and broke into tears.
She also shared, "'Oppa, why did you marry me?' I keep asking. Every time I hear 'I just liked you, so I married you,' my anxiety eases significantly."
Psychiatrist Oh Eun-young, observing Seo Yu-ri, said, "A lot of inner anxiety is visible," explaining, "She feels reassured only when she is very close to a specific person, when she can see and physically feel them."
She added, "It looks like adult separation anxiety, but its essence is anxiety. Facing the cause of the anxiety is important."
Dr. Oh further explained, "She is afraid of losing the stability and happiness she has finally found."
"When something is very precious, we become obsessed. But mental obsession is attachment. Crossing the line into attachment can make the other person suffer," she advised.
Finally, Dr. Oh suggested a solution: to recharge their depleted energy in their own separate spaces.
