Hansol Group Initiates Establishment of Mutual Respect Corporate Culture Hansol Group Logo

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Hansol Group is drawing attention by setting "securing organizational competitiveness through immersion" as the direction of its organizational culture and striving to establish a corporate culture based on mutual respect to achieve this goal.

On the 22nd, Hansol Group announced that it plans to proactively establish a future-oriented and healthy corporate culture based on the spirit of respecting its employees.

To this end, the group is creating a "Respect Model" to enhance employee respect across all affiliates and is introducing and implementing an "Employee Respect Program."

The Respect Model is based on seven core elements of respect: ▲Recognition ▲Delegation of authority ▲Positive feedback ▲Cooperative relationships ▲Shared goals ▲Consideration and empathy ▲Trust.

First, the organizational culture program commonly promoted by the group focuses on eliminating hierarchical factors that hinder immersion. By removing spatial separation between executives, team leaders, and employees, the group is working to narrow the distance between hierarchical levels and create a horizontal working environment.

Institutionally, the group has expanded the selective working hours system for office workers, changing to a flexible working system that allows completely autonomous commuting. Additionally, freedom in working hours is being expanded by abolishing dress codes and implicit lunch breaks.

In response to the frequent industrial accidents recently occurring, the group is also conducting a project to establish fundamental measures to prevent the recurrence of safety accidents so that employees can immerse themselves in work in a safe environment.

To strengthen organizational communication and foster a culture of employee respect, this year, the group is promoting the introduction of the ‘FA (Free Agent) system’ and the ‘Reverse Mentoring system.’ FA refers to a system that allows employees who meet certain criteria regarding length of service and job performance ability to transfer to a desired position. Hansol Group explained that this system enables employees to devote themselves to self-development and provides motivational effects.

The Reverse Mentoring system, to be introduced mainly in Hansol Paper and IT affiliates, involves younger generation employees acting as mentors to executives, promoting harmony between the old and new generations, fostering mutual understanding of each other's roles and statuses, and thereby strengthening communication.

A Hansol representative said, "It has already been proven through various empirical studies that employees who feel respected by the company are more immersed in their work to achieve organizational goals," adding, "We deeply recognize that employees are partners and companions in management, and we will establish ourselves as a company respected by society by fulfilling our responsibilities and duties as members of society."
