[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) is operating an online classroom following the temporary suspension of the "Seodaemun-gu Children's Soccer Team" classes, which were usually held at the Seodaemun-gu Artificial Turf Field (39 Baekryeonsa-gil), due to COVID-19.
The Seodaemun-gu Children's Soccer Team is a traditional strong team in children's soccer, having won the Seoul Children's Soccer Championship last year and produced numerous national and youth representatives.
The children's soccer team online lectures are filmed at the Seodaemun-gu Artificial Turf Field with two instructors and two students participating, and are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:30 PM to 5:10 PM via the mobile community (Naver Band).
The videos are uploaded so that students can watch and practice anytime. The mobile community classes serve as an online classroom function while also providing opportunities for mutual communication through chat rooms.
Seodaemun-gu is also operating the "Dancing Seodaemun! Harmony Line Dance Class" as an online lecture, allowing participants to join physical education classes without face-to-face contact. Additionally, this supports freelance physical education instructors in continuing their activities.
A district official stated, "To meet students' demands for soccer classes, we plan to operate these online lectures until on-site classes can resume."
