Park Ji-won: "Kim Jong-un's Health Is Crucial for Improving Inter-Korean and North Korea-US Relations"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Park Ji-won, a member of the Minsaeng Party, stated on the 21st regarding rumors about the critical condition of Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, “I believe that Chairman Kim’s health is important for the improvement of inter-Korean and North Korea-US relations.”

On the same day, Park said on Facebook, “CNN reports are covering rumors about Chairman Kim Jong-un’s surgery and critical condition,” and added, “Our government says there are no confirmed facts and that the credibility should be considered.”

Park said, “I have no information and share the government’s view,” and “Even if Chairman Kim underwent myocardial infarction surgery as speculated, it is a common procedure, and I hope for his speedy recovery.”

Park also said, “In the past, despite reports about the late Kim Jong-il’s health issues, he lived a long and healthy life, which is necessary for peace on the Korean Peninsula,” and added, “Although some conservative groups heavily criticized this view, I still think the same. I also believe it is wise to wait for fact-checking by the governments of South Korea and the United States.”
