[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] It was revealed that Jo Jung-suk and Jeon Mi-do from 'Hospital Playlist' liked each other 20 years ago.

In episode 6 of tvN's Thursday drama 'Hospital Playlist,' which aired on the 16th, the past connection between Chae Song-hwa (played by Jeon Mi-do) and Lee Ik-jun (played by Jo Jung-suk) was unveiled.

In the episode, Lee Ik-jun headed to Seoul National University 20 years ago to attend a medical school interview with Kim Jun-wan (played by Jung Kyung-ho). Lee Ik-jun gave Song-hwa a hair tie he bought from a street vendor when she was looking for one.

After passing the medical school entrance exam, Lee Ik-jun prepared a gift and a card for Chae Song-hwa's birthday to express his feelings. However, his friend Yang Seok-hyung (played by Kim Dae-myung) confessed to Song-hwa first and was rejected. Lee Ik-jun comforted Yang Seok-hyung and threw away the gift and card he had prepared for Song-hwa.

Putting the unresolved past behind, when Kim Jun-wan heard that Chae Song-hwa had undergone a biopsy, he said, "Why are you telling me this only now? When did you have the test?" Song-hwa replied, "It's been a week. The results come out tomorrow. The doctor said it doesn't look good, so I got scared." The next day, Song-hwa headed to the hospital and found that Lee Ik-jun had arrived earlier and was waiting.

Song-hwa confided in Lee Ik-jun, saying, "What if I have cancer?" Lee Ik-jun comforted her, saying, "We can fix it. I will definitely cure you." Song-hwa responded, "That's reassuring. Now I understand why doctors are told not to say such confident things. It sounds so good. So they shouldn't say that to patients. If the results are bad, I think I would be too desperate." Later, Song-hwa cheerfully informed Yang Seok-hyung, Ahn Jung-won (played by Yoo Yeon-seok), and Kim Jun-wan, who came to see her, that the diagnosis was benign.

It was then revealed that Song-hwa also had feelings for Lee Ik-jun, whom she met at the school interview, and that Lee Ik-jun, who was drinking with Yang Seok-hyung after being rejected by Song-hwa, had prepared a gift for her, showing that he had feelings for Song-hwa, evoking a sense of sadness.
