[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] When taking a certification photo of voting in the 21st National Assembly election on the 15th, it is safer to use a voting confirmation slip instead of a voting stamp to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Since there is a risk of infection when stamping the ballot on the back of the hand or on the vinyl gloves worn during voting, it is appropriate to receive a voting confirmation slip.
Yoon Tae-ho, head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' quarantine team, said, "Although the risk of infection is low when stamping the voting stamp on vinyl gloves rather than bare hands, there is still a concern about infection," and added, "We recommend taking certification photos through safe methods such as receiving a voting confirmation slip to prevent infection."
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and running water for more than 30 seconds before going to vote and after returning home. Avoid bringing young children to the polling station if possible.
Wearing a mask is mandatory at the polling station. Upon arrival, have your temperature checked at the entrance, sanitize your hands with hand sanitizer, and wear disposable vinyl gloves.
Maintain a distance of at least 1 meter from other voters inside and outside the polling station and refrain from unnecessary conversations.
If you have symptoms such as fever, vote at a temporary polling station and then visit a public health center.
