[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Spain's daily death toll from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) recorded its lowest level since the 17th of last month.


According to Bloomberg on the 10th, the Spanish Ministry of Health reported that 605 people died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This is the lowest number since the 24th of last month. As a result, the cumulative death toll in Spain reached 15,843.


The Spanish government is expected to extend the strict city lockdown measures, which only allow visits to pharmacies or supermarkets, for at least two more weeks. The Spanish parliament approved the government's proposal to extend the state of emergency until the 25th.


Meanwhile, Spain recorded 4,576 new confirmed cases on the same day. This brings the total confirmed cases to over 157,000.
