[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] An incident occurred in the United States where a man in his 20s hit his mother during an argument over toilet paper.


On the 9th (local time), local media reported that the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Office in California recently announced the arrest of Adrian Yan (26) on charges of assault.


Yan is accused of punching his mother in the face during a dispute over the location of toilet paper at their home in Saugus, north of Los Angeles, around 3 a.m. on the 6th.


In the police investigation, the mother stated, "My son used too much toilet paper during a time when it was hard to get, so I hid it."


The Sheriff's Office stated that domestic violence cases have increased across the United States following lockdown measures implemented to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
