[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] KEPCO Industrial Development held an online commemorative ceremony on the 10th to celebrate its 30th anniversary. CEO Hong Won urged employees to create new businesses in line with the changing energy paradigm.
CEO Hong said, "Despite difficult management conditions last year, more than 2,600 employees worked together to achieve the highest sales since the company's founding," adding, "Now, for the next 30 years ahead, all employees must continuously strive."
Since 2014, KEPCO Industrial Development has recorded annual sales of 300 billion KRW for six consecutive years. This success is thanks to actively securing projects in new thermal power plant operation and management (O&M) and energy storage system (ESS) distribution sectors.
The future goal is to expand the market share of maintenance services for main equipment such as turbines and boilers at thermal power plants. The company plans to accelerate efforts to secure O&M projects for liquefied natural gas (LNG) combined cycle power plants.
It also plans to strengthen the foundation of future energy businesses by expanding the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) business covering electricity, gas, and water sectors, and by advancing renewable energy projects.
CEO Hong stated, "The company faces accumulated challenges such as government energy transition policies, safe working environments, and discovering new business opportunities," and added, "Let us build a great workplace where all employees can work with pride, and a company that fulfills social responsibilities and earns trust and love from the public."
KEPCO Industrial Development was founded in 1990. It is an energy solution company that has contributed to stable energy supply and public convenience by operating and maintaining fuel and environmental facilities at domestic thermal power plants and conducting electrical instrument metering business.
By applying core technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to the energy sector, such as advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and renewable energy projects utilizing solar power and ESS, the company is adapting to changes in the industrial paradigm.
