[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 10th that it was selected as the overall winner of the '2020 Youth-Friendly Legislative Award' organized by the corporation 'Youth and Future' under the jurisdiction of the National Assembly Secretariat.
The Youth-Friendly Legislative Award was established in 2018 to commend the achievements and contributions of National Assembly members and local governments that are friendly to youth for a better life for young people and to spread excellent cases.
The Youth and Future Youth-Friendly Selection Committee, composed of experts such as university professors and CEOs as well as youth judges, selects awardees through evaluations of youth policies overall, including policy sectors, communication sectors, and youth activity support projects, based on the youth-friendly index.
Gimhae City received excellent evaluations in both policy and communication sectors and was selected as the overall winner in the Yeongnam region along with Dalseo-gu, Daegu, and Jin-gu, Busan.
Mayor Heo Seong-gon of Gimhae City said, "As our city's youth policies, which have been promoted so far, have been recognized as exemplary cases, we will focus our capabilities on guaranteeing youth participation opportunities, securing youth livelihoods, and creating a youth cultural ecosystem."
