Seongdong-gu Reports 12th Confirmed COVID-19 Case


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The 12th confirmed case of COVID-19 has been reported in Seongdong-gu.


The 12th confirmed patient (born in 1958, male) is the family member (husband) of Seongdong-gu #10 confirmed patient (born in 1958, female, confirmed on April 8) and resides in Seongsu 2-ga 1-dong. He was diagnosed positive on the 9th.



This confirmed patient visited Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital with his spouse on the evening of March 23.


Confirmed patient's movement path verified so far.


○ 4.8 (Wed) Morning: Spouse (Seongdong-gu #10) confirmed positive

11:00 Moved from workplace in Gwacheon, took subway to Seongsu Station, returned home, began self-quarantine

※ Wore a mask during movement

17:25 Visited health center screening clinic by 119 ambulance, underwent COVID-19 test (symptoms: fever, cough, sputum)


※ After spouse was confirmed positive on the morning of 4.8 (Wed), she was transferred to Seoul Medical Center. Immediately after transfer, disinfection was completed at home, shared residential areas, and surrounding areas.


○ 4.9 (Thu) Morning: Confirmed positive

14:00 Transferred to Seoul Medical Center, disinfection completed at home, shared residential areas, outdoor stairs, front gate area, and entrance alley


Seongdong-gu stated that the on-site epidemiological investigation team is currently verifying the confirmed patient's movement and contacts from two days before symptom onset according to the guidelines of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and will promptly disclose any additional findings.


They also requested that anyone experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever or cough contact Seongdong-gu Public Health Center (02-2286-7172), Seongdong-gu Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (02-2286-6881~8), or the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (1339).
