Individual Investors Net Buy 580 Billion KRW Early in KOSDAQ Market... Starting Up at 616
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The KOSPI opened at 1838, up about 1.7% from the previous day, fueled by buying momentum from individual investors.
On the 9th, the KOSPI started higher at 1838.09, up 1.71% (30.95 points) from the previous day. This was the highest opening price since the 13th of last month. As of 9:18 AM, it was recording 1836.67, up 1.63% (29.53 points) compared to the previous day.
In the securities market, individuals led the index rise with net purchases of 632.1 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions net sold 322.4 billion KRW and 291.9 billion KRW, respectively.
All sectors are on the rise. The largest gains were seen in Paper & Wood (2.87%), Transportation & Warehousing (2.23%), Insurance (2.20%), and Transportation Equipment (2.16%).
All of the top 10 market capitalization stocks are also rising. LG Chem showed the largest increase at 2.88%, followed by Samsung SDI (2.00%), Hyundai Motor (1.89%), SK Hynix (1.78%), Samsung C&T (1.60%), and Samsung Electronics (1.54%).
Overall, a total of 811 stocks are rising, including 2 stocks hitting the upper price limit. There are no stocks hitting the lower price limit, with 42 stocks declining. 35 stocks are unchanged.
The KOSDAQ is also on the rise. It opened at 616.21, up 1.53% (9.30 points) from the previous day. As of 9:18 AM, it was at 617.91, up 1.74% (10.54 points) from the previous day.
Individual investors also showed strong buying momentum in the KOSDAQ market, with net purchases of 583.8 billion KRW since the start of trading. Meanwhile, foreigners and institutions net sold 247.9 billion KRW and 135.2 billion KRW, respectively.
All sectors are showing gains. The Telecommunications Services sector had the largest increase at 3.19%, followed by Textiles & Apparel (2.63%), General Electric & Electronics (2.27%), and IT Components (2.22%).
Most of the top 10 market capitalization stocks are rising. Helixmith showed the largest gain at 4.48%, followed by KMV (2.16%), Pearl Abyss (2.15%), and CJ ENM (1.90%). On the other hand, Seegene and Studio Dragon fell by 4.08% and 0.40%, respectively.
At the same time in the KOSDAQ market, a total of 1169 stocks are rising, including 2 stocks hitting the upper price limit, with no stocks hitting the lower price limit, and 86 stocks declining. 46 stocks are unchanged.
