Jungnang-gu Good Mask Campaign Engages 17,400 Residents

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) announced that the ‘Good Mask Sharing Campaign,’ conducted with volunteers at six stations within Jungnang-gu (Myeonmok Station, Sagajeong Station, Mangu Station, Junghwa Station, Meokgol Station, Sangbong Station) from March 16 to April 3, has successfully concluded.

This campaign involved ▲exchanging personal health masks (KF80/KF94) for ‘cloth masks + portable hand sanitizer’ ▲promoting the mask concession campaign by adding hashtags on personal SNS ▲signing participation pledges for the campaign.

Through this campaign, not only were 497 valuable health masks donated by residents, but 17,400 residents participated in various ways, including signing pledges to concede health masks so that they could be distributed to those in need such as medical staff, the elderly, and vulnerable groups.

The donated health masks will be delivered to trainees and disabled individuals participating in vocational rehabilitation education at the Jungnang-gu Vocational Rehabilitation Center and four other centers (Saebyeokjigi Disabled Independent Living Center, Jungnang Disabled Independent Living Center, Shinsegye Jungnang Disabled Independent Living Center, Lifelong Education Center for Developmentally Disabled), as well as caregivers of people with developmental disabilities.

Through this donation, the district plans to deliver not only masks but also the warm hearts of residents to disabled trainees and caregivers who are having a difficult time due to the suspension of care services such as rehabilitation programs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, “I thank those who donated good masks despite the shortage of health masks due to COVID-19,” adding, “If we all unite our strength, we can overcome COVID-19.”
