[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Anyang-myeon, Jangheung-gun, Jeonnam (Myeonjang Song Nam-shin) announced on the 8th that it started early payment of 600,000 KRW (Jangheung Love Gift Certificates) in public interest allowances for 776 farming and fishing households in the area on the 7th to minimize the damage to farmers and fishermen caused by COVID-19.

The county decided to pay the farming and fishing public interest allowance, which was scheduled to be paid in two installments in the first and second half of the year, in a lump sum to improve quality of life and revitalize the local economy.

To prevent social distancing due to COVID-19 and avoid congestion at the Nonghyup counters, the gift certificates were delivered in bulk by visiting each village directly in cooperation with the local Nonghyup.

Song Nam-shin, head of Anyang-myeon, said, “I hope the public interest allowance for farmers and fishermen will help those economically struggling due to the COVID-19 crisis. Since it is paid in local gift certificates, I expect it to help increase sales of small business owners and self-employed people, leading to revitalization of the local economy.”

Those who have not received the public interest allowance can visit Nonghyup directly to receive the gift certificates.
