First Day of Wuhan Lockdown Lift... China Reports 62 New COVID-19 Cases

[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] In China, 62 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths, and 137 asymptomatic infections were reported in one day on the 7th.


On the 8th, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of midnight, 62 new COVID-19 cases had been reported.


Among the 62 cases, 59 were imported cases infected overseas and entered China, while 3 cases were infected domestically in Shandong Province (2 cases) and Guangdong Province (1 case). The 2 new deaths were reported with one each in Shanghai and Hubei Province. There were 12 new suspected cases, of which 11 were imported and 1 was from within Guangdong Province.


The total cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in China is 81,892. Among them, 3,333 have died, and 77,279 have recovered and been discharged. Currently, 1,190 confirmed patients are receiving treatment, and there are 83 suspected cases.


The number of asymptomatic infections increased by 137 in one day. Among these, 102 were asymptomatic infections imported from overseas. Including these, the total number of asymptomatic infections currently under medical observation is 1,095.


Outside mainland China, cumulative confirmed cases have been reported as 935 in Hong Kong, 44 in Macao, and 376 in Taiwan, totaling 1,355 cases.
