[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The asset manager, who was indicted on charges of concealing evidence found at the residence of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and in the professor's research office at Dongyang University under the direction of Professor Jeong Gyeong-sim of Dongyang University, admitted all charges in court.

On the 7th, at the first trial of Kim Kyung-rok (38), the asset manager for the family of former Minister Cho, held under the presiding of Judge Lee Jun-min of the 16th Criminal Division at the Seoul Central District Court, Kim's lawyer stated, "We admit all the charges."

He added, "Even if the concealment of evidence is acknowledged, considering Kim's profession as a private banker (PB) and Professor Jeong Gyeong-sim's status, we ask the court to show the maximum leniency permitted by law."

Kim, who worked as a securities firm PB, is accused of hiding three personal computer hard drives from former Minister Cho's residence and one computer used by Professor Jeong in her Dongyang University office, following Professor Jeong's instructions, as investigations into the private equity fund investment suspicions involving former Minister Cho's family intensified in August last year.

The prosecution believes that after the prosecution's search and seizure on August 27 last year, the couple, former Minister Cho and his wife, instructed Kim to hide computers and other items in preparation for additional search and seizures.
