[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 7th that it will take strong measures against illegal outdoor advertisements.
The main targets of this intensive crackdown are floating advertisements such as numerous banners and posters, mainly including ▲ apartment sales and rental advertisements ▲ store closing advertisements ▲ home appliance discount event promotions, which have been causing public resentment.
The county has verbally guided companies that posted banners and posters that significantly spoil the cityscape and obstruct drivers' visibility, potentially causing traffic accidents, and has been organizing them daily in urban areas through joint efforts with the county and town offices.
Nevertheless, since illegal activities have not been eradicated, the county plans to actively respond by applying a zero-tolerance policy to habitual violators and those who post large quantities, including imposing fines and filing complaints.
A county official said, "We made this decision because we can no longer overlook the unscrupulous behavior of some companies that has recently worsened," and added, "We will continue to strongly crack down on illegal outdoor advertisements that frequently cause complaints and threaten the safety of residents."
