Credit Card and Samsung Pay Accepted at All 25 Unmanned Civil Service Kiosks in Mapo Area... Applies to All Documents Except Real Estate Registration Certificates... Enhancing Convenience for Resident Civil Service Use
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) completed the installation of credit card terminals on all unmanned civil service issuance machines in the area last March to supplement the usage method, which had only allowed cash payments until now.
To resolve the inconvenience caused by the inability to use cards on unmanned civil service issuance machines, the district first conducted a pilot operation of two such machines within the Mapo-gu Office in December last year, and then completed the installation of credit card terminals on all machines installed in the area last March.
Accordingly, in addition to the existing cash payments, payment of fees for issuing documents from unmanned civil service machines is now possible via credit cards, debit cards, and Samsung Pay.
In addition to cash payments, fees for issuing documents from unmanned civil service machines can now be paid by credit cards, debit cards, and Samsung Pay.
However, among the documents issued by unmanned civil service machines, real estate registration certificates are currently only payable by cash, as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Court Administration are still in consultation.
Currently, there are a total of 25 unmanned civil service issuance machines operated by Mapo-gu, and detailed information on their operation status (location, operating hours, types of documents issued) can be found on the Mapo-gu Office website.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, with the end of technical support for Windows 7, the district replaced the operating systems of all unmanned civil service issuance machines with Windows 10 to prepare for potential security issues.
Yudonggyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “Issuing documents through unmanned civil service machines is a civil service frequently used by residents, and with the improved payment methods, residents will be able to use the service more conveniently. We will continue to monitor and inspect various civil services in the district to enhance residents’ satisfaction.”
