Geumcheon-gu Arrests Park Arson Suspect Through Integrated Operation Center CCTV

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that through CCTV monitoring by the U Integrated Operation Center control personnel, they apprehended a suspect in an arson case at Mujigae Children's Park in Doksan 2-dong around 11:45 PM on the 5th.

The suspect is a teenage male who committed arson at Mujigae Children's Park in Doksan 2-dong around 3:30 AM on April 4th. On this day, the suspect was caught by a control personnel at Geumcheon-gu U Integrated Operation Center who had memorized the suspect's appearance, and was arrested by the police who arrived at the scene after receiving the report.

A representative of the Geumcheon-gu U Integrated Operation Center stated, “The U Integrated Center control personnel always work with a strong sense of duty,” and added, “We will continue to observe thoroughly with eagle eyes and cooperate swiftly with related agencies in emergencies to ensure residents can live safely.”

In Geumcheon-gu, 1,980 multi-purpose CCTV cameras for crime prevention are installed at 618 locations including around schools, parks, and high-crime areas. At the Geumcheon-gu U Integrated Operation Center, four police officers dispatched from Geumcheon Police Station and six control personnel work in four shifts, two teams per day, monitoring CCTV 24 hours a day to respond promptly to various incidents and accidents occurring in the area.

Previously, thanks to the efforts of the control personnel at the Geumcheon-gu U Integrated Operation Center, a habitual flasher suspect was apprehended on March 4th, and this year the center has provided crucial leads for the on-site apprehension of eight criminal suspects in total.

On the 7th, Chief Choi Seong-young of Geumcheon Police Station is scheduled to award a commendation to the control personnel at the U Integrated Operation Center.

A Geumcheon-gu official said, “Thanks to the dedicated sense of duty of the U Integrated Operation Center control personnel and the swift cooperation of Geumcheon Police Station, the suspect was apprehended,” and added, “Moreover, the Geumcheon-gu U Integrated Operation Center responds promptly to various crimes, disasters, and accidents through thorough monitoring.”
