[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 6th that it will provide emergency support for public utility charges to help small business owners facing economic difficulties due to decreased sales caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The city plans to provide 300,000 KRW per business in Naju Love Gift Certificates to alleviate the economic burden of fixed expenses such as electricity, gas, and water bills for local small business owners.
Applications for public utility support can be made by inquiring and applying at the administrative welfare centers of the town, township, or neighborhood where the business is located from the 7th of this month until the 29th of next month.
The support targets small business owners with fewer than 5 regular employees (fewer than 10 employees for mining, manufacturing, construction, and transportation industries) and annual sales of 300 million KRW or less.
Businesses excluded from the Small Enterprise and Market Service policy fund loans, such as gambling, game rooms, and entertainment bars, are excluded from support.
When applying, applicants must submit the Small Business Public Utility Support Application, consent form for collection and use of personal information, a copy of the business registration certificate, value-added tax standard certificate, and health insurance workplace subscriber charge confirmation, among others.
Mayor Kang In-gyu said, “It is an urgent issue to thoroughly manage quarantine to block the inflow of COVID-19 while simultaneously resolving the management difficulties of small business owners suffering from a sharp decline in sales. We will do our best to provide prompt support for public utility applications and eliminate the economic blind spots caused by COVID-19.”
