Warm Acts of Sharing to Overcome COVID-19 Continue in Usan-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Acts of sharing to overcome COVID-19 at the Usan-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City are warming the local community.


According to Gwangsan-gu on the 6th, around 11:40 a.m. that day, a woman in her 50s wearing a mask handed a paper bag to a center employee and quickly left.


Inside the paper box was a handwritten letter containing a message of support: "Everyone is struggling due to COVID-19, but I am happy to share even a small token of sincerity. Please use this for those having a hard time. We will definitely overcome COVID-19," along with 44 masks and 150,000 won in cash.


At 2:30 p.m., two women in their 30s, who said they run a restaurant in Sochon-dong, delivered a box containing seven items including rice and hand sanitizer.


At 3:00 p.m., broadcaster Kwak Gwi-geun donated 20 boxes of gim (seaweed) to be shared with neighbors in need of care.


An official from Usan-dong said, "We thank the donors who have gathered their sincerity for their neighbors, and we will ensure that the valuable donations are properly delivered to neighbors in need."
