[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] In the 21st general election proportional representation party vote intention survey, the Future Korea Party, the proportional party of the United Future Party, continued to lead the Democratic Party's proportional party, the Together Citizens' Party.
According to Realmeter's survey commissioned by YTN from the 30th of last month to the 3rd of this month on the 4.15 general election proportional representation voting intention, 25.0% responded that they would vote for the Future Korea Party, and 21.7% responded that they would vote for the Together Citizens' Party, the agency announced on the 6th. Compared to the previous week, the Future Korea Party dropped by 2.4 percentage points, and the Citizens' Party fell by 8.1 percentage points.
The Future Korea Party saw increased support among those in their 30s (20.8%→23.9%), but declined among those aged 60 and over (36.9%→31.7%), 40s (24.0%→19.7%), and 50s (28.6%→24.9%). It also showed a downward trend in many regions such as Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam (39.8%→31.2%), Daejeon·Sejong·Chungcheong (30.4%→23.3%), and Daegu·Gyeongbuk (35.5%→29.7%).
The Citizens' Party experienced double-digit declines in Gwangju·Jeolla (43.4%→28.2%), Gyeonggi·Incheon (34.0%→22.2%), 30s (36.8%→23.8%), and 20s (28.9%→16.9%). It also decreased among progressives (46.9%→37.2%), centrists (25.4%→19.7%), Daegu·Gyeongbuk (23.2%→16.0%), Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam (23.8%→18.5%), and Seoul (28.4%→23.7%).
On the other hand, the Open Democratic Party rose by 2.7 percentage points to 14.4%, and the Justice Party also increased by 2.6 percentage points to 8.5%. Notably, Democratic Party supporters showed a dispersed pattern in proportional voting among the Citizens' Party (43.8%), Open Democratic Party (27.9%), and Justice Party (7.9%).
Additionally, the People's Party rose by 0.4 percentage points to 4.7%, while other parties were surveyed below 3%.
Meanwhile, President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for state affairs rose by 1.1 percentage points from the previous week to 53.7%, marking the highest since the second week of November 2018 (53.7%). Negative evaluations fell by 0.9 percentage points to 43.2%.
Realmeter explained, "This is the first time since the second week of November 2018 that the positive and negative evaluations showed a double-digit difference."
This survey contacted 46,381 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with a final 2,521 respondents completing the survey, recording a 5.4% response rate. The sampling error is ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. For more details, refer to the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission website.
