[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased to 10,284 on the 6th.


The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, the number of confirmed domestic cases increased by 47 compared to the previous day.


Seven patients were identified during the quarantine process. Additional patients in the metropolitan area and Daegu-Gyeongbuk region were 20 and 15, respectively.


By region, Daegu had the highest number with 13 cases, followed by Seoul (11), Gyeonggi (8), Gyeongbuk (2), Daejeon (2), Gyeongnam (2), Chungnam (1), and Incheon (1).


The number of patients who were declared recovered and released from isolation increased by 135 to 6,598 compared to the previous day. The death toll rose by 3 during the same period to 186.
