[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gukyeop] Gwangju Sarang Nanum Community announced on the 6th that from March 23 to August 24, they will conduct hand sanitizer distribution, snacks for the underprivileged, and quarantine activities as needed, with the purpose of prioritizing support projects to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
Due to the large number of visitors interested in the event that day, activities were carried out while observing social distancing through a three-step process at the entrance: first, thermal imaging camera measurement; second, thermometer measurement; third, hand sanitizing and mask wearing.
In the first part of the activities, they labeled 2,000 50mL sterilizing disinfectant bottles, labeled 200 450mL spray bottles, packed 180 snacks, and delivered 2,200 sterilizing disinfectant bottles and 180 snacks to six institutions including the Unam 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
In the second part, quarantine activities were conducted at about 50 neighboring stores and vulnerable groups in the Unam-dong area, and spray-type sterilizing disinfectant was delivered as a preventive measure against COVID-19. The activities were carried out with the hope of providing some help during these very difficult times.
Representative Joo Jae-hwan said, “Although many people are enduring difficult times due to COVID-19, this was a warmer and more meaningful time thanks to the support project from the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.”
