[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Actress Shim Eun-ha appeared at a campaign rally on the 5th to support her husband, candidate Ji Sang-wook (United Future Party·Seoul Jungseong-dong Eul).
Candidate Ji introduced Shim from the campaign vehicle, saying, "Today, to support my husband and to thank everyone who is working hard to help him, my family member is also here to greet you," introducing Shim Eun-ha.
Wearing a brown coat, Shim politely greeted the supporters, and some citizens who recognized her approached the campaign vehicle to take photos.
During the campaign, Candidate Ji said, "When I was working on the political front lines, my family felt lonely," adding, "I want to take this opportunity to say to my family, who have felt hurt, that I have been lacking."
Shim did not take the microphone herself but stayed beside Candidate Ji for about ten minutes before quietly getting off the campaign vehicle. Afterwards, she followed Candidate Ji’s route and engaged in conversations with local residents.
Shim had generally refrained from appearing at her husband Ji’s campaign rallies. Even during the 2016 20th general election, she only appeared on the vote-counting day.
Meanwhile, Shim Eun-ha was greatly loved by the public in the 1990s. She debuted in 1993 with MBC's 'Under One Roof' and rose to stardom starring alongside Jang Dong-gun and Son Ji-chang in 'The Last Match.'
